How Far is a Long Distance Relationship

Most of the people gives a big "NO-NO" on the idea of long distance relationships. Some of them would say it doesn't work, some of them would say it's okay from the start and eventually everyday gets old and gets boring until a day comes that one of them just stops. 

I've heard once in a video-rticle that "Long distance relationship doesn't work, unless, it does." It makes sense right? It won't work if the people involved eventually becomes uncommitted with all the committed things they told one another in the beginning. For example, at the start it would be "message me always, let's Skype, let's Facetime, I'll wake you up and you wake me up, I'll wait for you before I sleep, I'll see you soon, I'll be there just a few months from now" especially for long distance relationship that has time zone boundaries. It's frustrating, it's hard, but at the beginning you are willing to give your all, sacrifice your time with friends and family just to be able to communicate to that special someone. Both of you will feel secured and happy and the feeling of missing one another is starting to get into a big bubble but still you're struggling until one day it pops. The big bubble of missing that person pops into the air and you just keep on feeling down, feeling empty, and weary. And you start thinking if the relationship is working or is it no longer working because the situation that you are in is not as satisfying as when you were physically together until one of you drops the bomb to end things and that's it. 

But for the other "unless it does" part of the video-rticle, it works because both of you involved in the relationship understands the definition of long distance relationship.

It works because both of you are aware of the different possibilities that you may encounter as days pass by. It works because both of you are responsible of your feelings for one another. It works because both of you believes that what you have is real and you are compassionate about this love that no distance can ever break you apart. It works because even if there is lack of communication between the both of you you never use this as grounds to be sad or to feel bad about your relationship, you use this lack of communication as a motivation to give your best in every conversation. It works because both of you get to have a choice to make things work and as long as you both agree to what is waiting for you in the end it'll work. 

Love knows no distance, boundaries, race, trials, culture, religion and gender. 

Always think of it this way, you only get to love a person once in your life, if you are lucky enough twice, always make sure to give a love that you'll never regret, a love that you believe in and a love that will make you shine each day.
